VISION
East Africa is rich in biodiversity, agriculture, forestry, and human resources. The vision of farip is to allow farming families and small businesses to use such assets for their innovative ventures and projects. This
- improves their income,
- allows sustained village development, and
- provides affordable food for low-income city residents.
MISSION
farip supports innovative Africans who want to explore their own ideas for development.
farip offers continuous and sustained support for funding, including donations or investments, e.g. loans.
Such loans support innovation through stages: idea, trials, prototyping, and market readiness for products and services.
farip also offers sustained coaching and business management to ensure long-term success in the innovation process.
GOALS
Expand availability of local innovation centers in rural Tanzania.
Increase access to low-risk production loans for farmers. These loans are secured not by land, but by growing trees. GRACOMA (Growing Assets Collateral Management) helps monitor and register these trees locally.
Secure investment loans to improve the logistics chain—from rural collection points, long-distance transport, to urban sales points—so low-income city residents can buy affordable, quality products. Transparent TSS (Transaction Security Services) ensures fair trade and returns profits to producers.
Utilize biodiversity to boost incomes through agriculture, forestry, and village development.
PURPOSE
The farip Foundation aims to create and promote sustainable income opportunities in low-income and resource-constrained rural areas of Africa. These activities serve the public interest and benefit local communities. The foundation is non-profit and focuses solely on charitable goals.
